My wife was informed about 5 years ago that there was a demand for clean regency romance books by publishers such as Cedar Fort, Shadow Mountain, Covenant Books and others so she decided to foray into this genre and write her first clean regency romance book "The Secret of Haversham House." The first thing that I learned from her experience is that clean regency romance means many different things to different people. Some people feel that regency romance must follow a certain template and if you deviate from that template it is not a regency romance. Others have an interesting definition of what "clean" means for this genre.
Although not exhaustive I started to research other clean and wholesome regency authors to see if there is anything they all have in common? I visited the author websites of Heidi Kimball, Rachael Anderson, Esther Hatch, Rebecca Connolly, Jennifer Moore, Josi Kilpack, Sara Eden, Ashlyn Newbold, Martha Key, Sally Britton, Sarah McConkie and others. What I learned is that most (not all) of these authors are Americans, attended BYU, live in Utah and have written dozens of books. I tip my hat to all these authors for finding time to write books that they and others will enjoy.
Who are some of your favorite clean and wholesome regency authors?
